The team have recently been carrying out a fire alarm panel installation. This is part of a full renovation at a HMO property in Derby.
This project is part of a full re-wire on a large Victorian property. The property is currently in the process of being converted into a HMO. Along with the re-wire we have also been busy installing the full fire alarm system.
The property is situated on Stone Hill Road, just off Burton Road, which is on the outskirts of the City Centre. The renovation work is being carried out for a local property developer, Your Space Properties.
Due to this house being a rental property, the developers need to ensure all licensing regulations are being met. Including the installation of the fire alarm system.

HMO Fire Regulations
The regulations do not stipulate the type of alarms which are to be installed in rental properties. However each property has to conform to various parts of the regulations.
The property developers along with ourselves as installers, have decided that a hard wired system with a Fire Alarm Panel would be the most suitable for this property
As we are in the process of knocking the property back to bare brick for the rewire, it seems like an ideal time to have the full fire alarm system installed.
Carrying out the worker the Fire Alarm Panel Installation

The above images show the lads busy at work on the fire alarm panel installation. The first step in the process is to ensure all the cables are laid under the floorboards. These are then ready for the smoke and heat detectors to be fitted onto the ceilings. Followed by the fire alarm call points on the walls once they had been plastered.
You can see Frazer clipping the cables that are running down the walls. These cables are for the fire alarm panel and call points. This ensures the cables are neat and secure read for plastering.
The above images show Colin installing the fire alarm panel. This step of the installation is carried out once the plastering has been completed. The hallway will now be ready for the decorators to come in to do any finishing touches before the new residents move in.
Fire Alarm Panels are to be installed by the front door to the property. This allows quick and easy access for the fire service in the event of an incident.
