We have recently taken part in an EV Van Trial with Nottingham City Council. The Electric Van Experience (EVE) Project.
We have recently taken delivery of an Electric Van to use for a month.
The Electric Van Experience (EVE) Project – is the purchase of 50 vehicles for companies to take on a try-before-you-buy arrangement until March 2022.
The van we received is a Toyota Proace EV.
We are installing EV Charge points across Derby and Nottingham, so it made sense to apply to this trial.
The project offered up to a one-month EV Van Trial from a fleet of ten electric vans.
The programme delivered 75 loans to 41 organisations across the city before funding for the project finished at the end of March this year.
As part of the existing Go Ultra Low Programme, the Council had been successfully delivering an ULEV experience to businesses in Nottingham, enabling them to trial this type of vehicle.
Charging ahead with our EV Van
We have a fleet of 7 vehicles and the trial EV is our first electric van.
Going forwards, we will be looking at replacing our older vans with electric versions.
Our experience so far with the EV van has been great. No issues with range, which is the main concern when having to get out to jobs.
Overall it’s been an entirely positive trial.
